Elder Mask

We got an e-mail from Trevor last Wed, Feb. 4th. He told us that Elder Clate Mask had come to speak to them the night before. I was so excited to hear this because Bro. Mask was my seminary teacher my 9th grade year. He was the best! That was definitely my favorite year of seminary. For our final, he brought out a stack of tests and then put them down. He told us that we would pass when we sent him an invitation to a mission farewell or to a temple wedding. I did send him my wedding announcement and he actually came to our reception. The really neat thing is that our reception was at the Rasmussen's house. I wish Trevor had known that. I'm sure he would have been even more excited to hear him speak.

He may be a little difficult to recognize. He's the one with the glasses and mustache. This was 1992.

MTC - Week 1

When we saw the Missionary Training Center sign is started to become clear that Trevor really was leaving on his mission! We've waited 19 years for this day, but all of a sudden I wished I could start those 19 years over again. On the other hand, Trev was totally ready to get on with it!

This seemed like an appropriate place for a picture. In one year Trent will join Trevor in the mission field.

When you enter the MTC, parents go in one door, missionaries in the other. We were standing on the other side of the room. I wish I could hear what she was saying to him!

This is the spot where a sister clips their suit pocket so their badge will slide in.

Trevor's Last Day at Home

On Sunday, Jan. 18th, Trevor gave a wonderful mission talk in Sacrament Meeting. You could tell from what he said that he was definitely prepared and ready to go. He once again was surrounded by many family and friends that came to hear him speak.

That night, Trevor was set apart as a missionary by his stake president, Pres. Matt Riggs. He gave Trevor a beautiful blessing. We have no doubt that he will be safe and be a great missionary. Pres. Riggs asked us to go home and write down the things we remembered from the blessing and our feelings during it. Grandma and Grandpa and the Millers went back to the Rasmussens house to do just that before we forgot too much. It is a good thing that we did because each of us remembered something different. I'm sure that we missed some things, but we were able to record a great deal of it. Trevor took a copy of what we wrote so that he can read it. Hopefully he will read the words that his stake president was inspired to tell him and they will be a source of comfort and strength to him while he is in the MTC and the mission field.

Farewell Open House

On Sat., Jan. 17th, Trevor said good-bye to his family and friends. He had a houseful of people that came to wish him well on his mission.

Thank you, everyone, for being such a positive influence in Trevor's life.

Mission Call

On October 3, 2008, Trevor received his mission call to the Mexico, Mexico City East Mission. He was surrounded by family and friends who had all made a guess as to where he was going and no one guessed right. We are all so proud of you, Trevor, and know you will be a wonderful missionary.
